Schließlich werden Lösungen aufgezeigt, welchen Beitrag verbessertes Boden- und Wassermanagement zur zukünftigen globalen Ernährungssicherung leisten können.

Water shortage, droughts and world food security: The chapter first describes fundamental links between soil water balance and vegetation, and then proceeds with a portrayal of impacts of anthropogenic climate change and particularly droughts on agricultural production. Finally, solutions will be presented on how improved soil and water management can contribute to securing future food security.
